Reminders:

Submit Material!

This will not work if you do not send any music cues to us. If you are a client, stay on top of this. Keep submitting batches of cues. Don’t send in a few tracks then quit. Don’t give up. Set weekly or Bi-weekly goals and continue to fill the pipeline of cues to us. We want to see you succeed! To succeed and reap the rewards  aka TV placements you need to send in content aka cues. Don’t over think it. Keep it simple. Create 90-120 instrumental tracks that evoke a mood, theme, style.

Composers/Producers!

Study the downloadable reference tracks included inside your order. This will help you create material that is needed. Our publishers have hand selected these ref tracks and genres to help us get them what music styles and moods they need. Watch and analyze TV shows and listen to what type of music is being used. This is a good strategy if you want to see big results.

Send Alt Mixes:

Remember for optimal TV placement potential – Send in variations/alt mixes/ stems of your cue (Full, Minimal, No Drums, Drone, etc.) This will help you get more placements and gives a music supervisors of a TV show more layers of your track to play with when syncing a track up to a show.
Not sure what alt mixes are? Here is a link to some of my tracks:

MTV Catfish Is Back For Another Season and They Want Our Cues

We have some exciting news! Catfish is back for another season and they want our music cues! Here are the details: All music will need to be on the minimal side and as always – Catfish tends to skew quirkier/left of center/ more off kilter than most MTV programming so please keep that in mind. 13 Tips to get TV Placements

This is Collin from Musicfortv.net.

Being a composer, producer and/or freelancer can be tough. I’ve put together 13 tips to help you succeed in the industry.

13 Tips to get TV Placements:

  • The only difference between a successful TV composer and you is they didn’t quit and kept writing. Anyone can do this!
  • Don’t over think this. You are not writing a hit song. You are writing a simple mood, emotion, style, genre or theme of music.
  • Invest in modern sounding plugins
  • Set a Tracks per Week Submission Goal – (3-5 cues with alt mixes a week is a good one)
  • Focus on 90-120 second instrumentals
  • Don’t over produce
  • Spend NO more than 2-4 hours on a track- Crank them out!
  • Find a few cue styles you feel comfortable with and create those
  • Persistence and Commitment – Your Bank account is in direct proportion to your work ethic. If you want it, you have to go get.
  • Everyone want but not everyone gets. Make sure your work ethic matches your ambition and what you want. If you want your music business to succeed, be sure you make time for it. Put in the effort necessary.
  • Make a couple variations/alt mixes of your cue i.e. (full, minimal, no drums, minimal, drone only) This gives you optimal placement potential.
  • Study reference tracks and Watch the TV Shows to hear and see how it all works together.
  • Be professional in all your productions, labeling and submissions

Stay Strong this week! Keep up the good work everyone!
– Collin George Scudder

Film and TV placement is currently one of the most successful ways to make money with your music.

If you are not making money in TV right now, then you are really missing out big time. Mailbox Money is the best kind of money. Imagine what $200-10K a month extra could do for your family and business. I stand behind MFTV services. It’s worked for me and I know it can work for you. – “Collin G. Scudder”

If you have auditioned and been accepted, we think you can kill this and get placements. This is really simple too. Follow our directions and you should be golden! We want to see you to win, get placements, start generating mass amounts of placements and of course make lots of money! Once you sign up, you are on our exclusive team. We will be here to make sure you are doing it right. I personally want to see every writer involved with MFTV to get fired up for this and slay the placement game because this will 100% work for you but only if you work it. Meaning you have to send in material to get placements! haha.

On another note: I’m super excited for the composers/producers that have just signed up. Good job! You will not be sorry. You all seriously just made a great decision! You guys are going to do a spectacular job! Let’s get it! Musicfortv.net offers a truly amazing service. There is nothing out there like it. We get your music placed in major networks with ease. MFTV is a Win/Win Situation for all of us.

Hear Me Out: Over the last couple years, I’ve had over 50+ tracks placed and counting which generates me a ton of residual income each quarter. I get paid every time a show with my music airs or the season re-runs. It’s nice. I’m not even really a composer. I write in my spare time for fun. I’m a full time sound designer. So if I can bank, I know you can too. Honestly it’s really simple. I can only imagine the amount of money you would make if you actually focused and wrote cues full time. Overall basically If you can make tracks that sound good, and follow directions, then i’m confident you will do great! – “Collin G. Scudder” Give our services a thought for real. If you are not a client – Ask yourself this ONE simple question. 1. Are YOU making money with your music in TV right now? If the answer is no.. then you are seriously missing out big time $$$$. We can help you get placements once we start working together. Make a decision soon, at this rate we probably will have to close signups soon. So don’t sit on the sidelines for much longer.. If you want this.. then i’d recommend signing up now..

Teamwork makes the Dream Work! Working together effectively is important if you want us to get your material placed.. Please let’s not waste each others time. Please read all our provided information included in your order, follow the Getting Started Steps and Prep & Delivery Protocol. We need to make sure all submissions and labeling is professional. We will not be allowing any submissions that do not meet our standards reach our publishers cause they will not take it either. Lol.. Learn our Guidelines and Protocol. Once you understand our protocol and the process, it will get easier. Just try to listen and learn what we are asking. Ask questions or call either James or I. Here is a link to a video showing you how to add meta data and send a batch of cues properly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PbfWYdHlQJQ&t=4s

Why Do We Make You Submit 2 Cues at First?

For those who are wondering why we are making you send in 2 cues at a time at first. We do this because we need to make sure you are doing this right. The people who we work with are very particular in what they accept and how it needs to be prepared (meta data). We will be vetting you until we feel confident in your work and that you can follow directions with out us having to constantly get back to you for edits on production, meta data and/or have to listen/ analyze your material so intensely. We will keep you on the 2 cue per submission quota until you show us you can do it without us! 🙂

Things to remember this week while writing:

* Set a Weekly Quota – Tracks per Week Goal

* No fades at the end. Make your endings sound more natural and orchestrated. Maybe compose a nice musical element to stab end your track or even use a Button/Stinger ending.- Button – Quick, natural ending – Stinger – usually a build up sound effect and hit to end track – short and quick.

* Make a couple variations of your cue i.e. (full, minimal, no drums,)

* Study reference tracks * Be professional in all your labeling and submissions – this will help us work together efficiently.

Hope you guys have a great rest of the week! Keep writing! Keep grinding! All of our hard work will pay off. We reap what we sow. SO keep planting seeds. With MFTV you are planting seeds for the future you to thank the past you 😉 It will happen. Just keep going hard! ps. be sure to subscribe to our weekly newsletter!

Cheers! – Collin

UPDATES for Current Clients**
Things to remember:

  • No fades at the end. Make your endings sound more natural and orchestrated. Maybe compose a nice musical element to stab end your track or even use a Button/Stinger ending.- Button – Quick, natural ending – Stinger – usually a build up sound effect and hit to end track – short and quick.
  • I say this cause you want to make your cues sound cohesive from start to finish. You might have a good intro, body of a cue but then the endings are bad or not cohesive as a whole body of work and sometimes it hinders you getting a TV placement.
  • I recommend making a couple variations of your cues i.e. (full, minimal, no drums,)
Give our publishers and music supervisors a couple layers of your cues to play with.
  • Study reference tracks provided and watch TV shows. Listen to the background music and how it aids the overall production.
  • Be professional in all your labeling and submissions – this will help us work together efficiently.

ON ANOTHER NOTE: I want to encourage you guys to create as much quality material as you can. You are not only getting better by spending all the time it takes to create quality tracks but at the same time building up your personal library of material that you have the full rights to sell or license to games/productions/commercials.
Each track to me, is like a fishing pole. When I fish, I want to have 100’s of poles out there catching fish for me while I’m not even working. That’s why I focus on creating intellectual property. Every track you create is intellectual property. The more you have, the more you can have working for you. Everyone reading this can be a success story.

Let’s get you started.

What are you waiting for? Start writing for TV shows today. Start learning how to write for TV shows today too. Bottom-line, Let’s Get You Started today. The sooner you start writing music cues for these shows, the sooner we can help get your music placed and get you paid $$$$

Below are the plans, take a look and choose one to start writing with our exclusive group of producers and composers.

We offer two levels of service, each for a year, $9.99/month(50% writers share to you) and $49.99 a month(100% writers share to you). Which you choose is totally up to you. Your ROI on either package will be 100%-1000% or more if you listen to our suggestions.

If you choose to not let us earn money for your material then all we can say is, we will always be here if and when you change your mind.
